Alcoholic Beverage License

Your license application goes to the Kentucky ABC on the state portal — this form does not replace it. Benton’s role is the city ABC Administrator’s approval of that application, plus the city license under Chapter 98. Building Inspector approval and required inspections — §98.33(A) — the applicant and the place of business approved by the city Building Inspector, plus any inspection required by the Kentucky Building Code or State Fire Code
Application fee paid ($50) — §98.31 — non-refundable, credited against the initial license fee
License fee paid in full — §98.13 — no licensee may begin operating until the license fee has been paid in full
No delinquent city taxes, bills or fees — §98.33(C) — no license may be granted or renewed while any city debt is outstanding, including on the premises
License prepared and issued — §98.34 — number, type, premises, building owner and expiration on the license face

License

Chapter 98 licenses are issued by the City in addition to the Commonwealth’s license. Fees are set by §98.11 and the license year runs 1 February to 30 January.
